End of term message from the head

Dear Parents and Carers

I know at this time of year there is a pressure to create a perfect, magical Christmas.  I know that you want to give your children the magic of Father Christmas and ensure he brings the best gifts and sometimes that means a bit if stress for you, but I’m writing to share something we all are aware of in school.  I’m writing to tell you that every January when your child comes back to school, they tell us all about the Christmas holidays. They tell us about the day when everyone stayed indoors and watched a film. They tell us about staying at Grandma’s and being excited when you came home from work. They tell us about the walk in the freezing cold with all the family.  They tell us about how you all played a game of cards together. They tell us about staying up to midnight (or late!) on New Year’s Eve and spending the next day in pyjamas.  They mention their gifts, but for them Christmas is you and your love and time and routines and feeling safe.  Especially at this difficult time financially for everyone, please remember that you are their favourite thing.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and wonderful times together.  See you all again in January 2023!
